62k words and just the epilogue to go.

yesterday i did some writing until my brain ran out of Make Good Words juice. my brain really really wanted to keep writing (one chapter left, and then the epilogue!) but i knew id only produce drivel so i very deliberately did other stuff.
this morning in the shower i cracked the ending, know exactly how to stick the landing and finish it off with a flourish.
…but ive got a work shift so i cant actually write it out. 😭

cleared 60k words at the Grand Gesture. all that's left is the "Yes!" and the victory lap (maybe-probably a celebratory sex scene), and then the epilogue.

tfw you realize you started this chapter entirely wrong and the revision will be a million times better but it still means you need to toss what you've already got on the page into the trash

Oof. So the breakup went better than I expected, which is to say it was total emotional carnage but it came together pleasantly in a narrative sense.

At the 51,000 word mark and our heroines have managed to royally screw up absolutely everything. Now they have to go be mad at each other, and sad at themselves, and scrape themselves off the floor to do something about it.

gosh writing the end-of-act-two bits of a romance novel is hard. i dont like seeing my babies hurt each other, even accidentally.

okay! i think ive got a workably fleshed-out outline for the rest of #BrickedUp. now i just need to figure out how to interleave writing time with being back at work, starting tomorrow...

i am a stone's throw away from a 4000-word writing day but my brain is total mush and i cannot make it across the threshold. boo. :(

oh gosh what a trainwreck.

am now in the part of the narrative arc where i have to hurt the characters, first with very light scrapes, and then with increasing severity, and sometimes i wonder if im actually cut out for this, because it often makes my skin crawl

ive got to the top of the roller coaster's big hill.
this is where things get interesting.

coming up on 30,000 words on #BrickedUp and I'm starting to wonder if I can get all the way to the finish line before I start work in two weeks.

okay, i feel like i hit the button on that scene perfectly. imagine me buffing my nails on my shirt.
Meet Cute: done.
now it can sit in a drawer for a week, then ill do an edit pass, and post it somewhere.
