    #TheRollingStones - "I Don't Know Why" (1969)

Someone lent me this comp (Singles Collection: The London Years) way back when it first came out - it was great all the way through. But this #StevieWonder cover was the standout, the song that I listened to more than any other. RIP #BrianJones.

  2. On this day in 1969 Brian Jones shed his mortal coil. Brian was the founder of the Stones and an innovator who found ways to use different instruments that were not obvious choices that had a major impact on the early Stones sound. In the Robert Johnson Box Set Keith Richards writes about the first time he heard Robert Johnson at Brian's flat in London.

Jimmy had a gig with the Crusaders
And so missed the van that Mick, Keith
& Brian had hired, along w/four mates,
For the five-hour drive to Manchester

And “The American Folk Blues Festival:”
John Lee, Sonny & Brownie, T-Bone,
    (Memphis) Slim and Willie Dixon.
They listened to Staples Singers tapes

    The whole way.
