Moved on to another #LiteraryPrize winner but keep thinking about the terrifying Prophet Song and speed at which #freedoms and #humanrights can disappear.Lynch's paragraph-only writing style quickens the pace of the novel and demise of rights and freedoms. Final pages speaking of the prophet song seem to suggest that it has always been this way but not everywhere. So we should be prepared to cross the channel in that raft when #fascism comes to us. #bookstodon #books #BookerPrize

#Saunders is my favorite living writer, the winner of not only the 2017 #ManBookerPrize, but also a #MacArthur #GeniusGrant. If you haven't read anything by him yet, I recommend starting with the hilarious but acerbic short story #SeaOak, or the much gentler #Fox8.
