  1. I love the album version because I can sing whatever verse I want to after “Threshold.” This is one of my karaoke tunes anyway. Saw Steve Miller in La Crosse in 2014 and the band sounded as good as ever.

Ridin' high, I got some tears in my eyes

  2. "Jungle Love" is a 1977 song by the #SteveMillerBand, featured on the album #BookOfDreams. It was written by Lonnie Turner (longtime bass player for the Steve Miller Band) and #GregDouglass (a well-known San Francisco sideman who also played with #HotTuna and #GregKihn, among many others). It reached No. 23 on the #Billboard Hot 100. According to Greg Douglass, he and Turner wrote the song for #DaveMason, who turned it down.

  3. Out on deck for a bit on this fine Wednesday evening and found a version of this tune that’s not really an extended mix so much as the instrumental part off the album edited together a few times so you can sing it before Steve does which I don’t mind ‘cause I can work on harmonies. For the helluvit. It’s just me out here - I don’t give a shit! 😉

  6. Book Of Dreams

The Steve Miller Band release their 10th on May 6, 1977. It's one of the band's most successful albums and is -- like all the others -- produced by Steve himself. While anytime's a good time, this album does best (IMHO) turned up well with the windows open or the top down. Goodbye to all my friends at home
    Goodbye to people I've trusted
I've got to go out and make my way
I might get rich you know I might bet busted
But my heart keeps calling me backwards
As I get on the 707
Ridin' high I got tears in my eyes
You know you got to go through hell
    Before you get to heaven

  8. Got to see The Steve Miller Band in 2014 at a wing ding called “Freedom Fest” in La Crosse. He was on the bill with a Lou Gramm-less Foreigner. Foreigner was good - Mick Jones playing guitar quite well - but without Lou Gramm, just not the same. Steve and his band stole the show.

  9. Always liked the album cut with “Threshold” just before “Jet Airliner” - there’s that instrumental with the melody for one of the verses to sing along to (and I do!). Later in the song Steve says “funky shit” instead of “funky kicks” as the Top 40 radio version is.
