Yes.The #Fediverse is an evolution of the #Blogoshere (that was obliterated by #Web20).
Today, we have #ActivityPub, #ActivityStreams, and #WebFinger offering new infrastructure for loosely-coupled #SocialMedia that’s inherently decentralized.
This is just the start. #2023 is the year real (and useful) innovation returns to the Web.
There’s a lot more to come across many fronts 😀

Loose-coupling has to be fundamental to the platform both philosophically and architecturally i.e., users MUST be able to choose their preferred reading and writing/editing tools.
Anything less is just another game of lock-in
