I joked earlier that this was because Grimes probably blocked him but I think now it has more to do with the tremendous failure that buying blue checks caused. #blocktheblue basically owned Elon so hard and he had to let people hide their check marks. #twitter

@esvrld Because plenty of those calling for #BlockTheBlue are already presupposed to oppose sex work on moral or "exploitation" grounds; and because not having Twitter Blue does block a user from some features that are useful for outreach.

Although, given how much Musk has tainted the app with his own Nazi/Alt-Right brand and fetish, it's increasingly not worth either the cost nor the association.

My total count is a bit over 3,000 now, which probably tells you a lot about my blocking behavior over the last 9+ years.

I've seen a few accounts get random #BlueChecks from actors to content creators who didn't have a blue checkmark this morning. So unless everyone bought them at the same time it seems odd.

I’m still lurking on 🐦 (this will be xp’d from 🐘) but found a new game there: look at replies to 1M+ follower accounts that disavow their renewed blue ticks. So much fury from #BlueTick nobodies, so easy to #BlockTheBlue in case that dying hellsite doesn’t 💀
