#seabikes how do you navigate on your bike? I was using my a phone mount and BikeMap app to navigate. To me the point of bike routing is to find the all-too-rare bike lanes and safer roads. Bike mount vibrations can damage phone cameras, so I got a Karoo 2 and the directions don’t seem concerned with bike lanes. It sends me straight down Denny Hill to work rather than the Pike, now Pine bike lanes. Are my expectations wrong? Are bike computers just for stats and basic wayfinding? Cc #biketoots

It seems like a miss that there’s not any post-apocalyptic movies (that I’m aware of - hit me up) where the people left behind ride bikes. Sometimes they drive cars (against all logic), and sometimes they ride horses (who would need to be fed). If one was practical in a post-apocalyptic world, what kind of bike would they ride? I imagine something that has parts that are very common (so you can find parts for repair easily on other bikes). What say you #BikeTooter? #biketoots

I went on a ride today to the Ralph Klein human-made wetlands. On my way there, I saw this sign at a community centre:
Be the person your dog thinks you are.
Please enjoy a completely unrelated photo I snapped at the wetlands. It's an interesting place. They have compost toilets.

Even on a weekend, 4 hours of riding the bus is a significant chunk of time.
Car free living just takes more time.
I feel like I need to divorce many of my close friends who live scattered around my sprawling city.
Anyone else have this problem?
Would love to hear from you BC I would love to go car free but I think I would lose friends.

To those of you who go car free, what do you do about close social connections who live down the highway?
I have a good friend who lives:
a 20 minute drive away, or
a 2 hour transit ride away, or
a 1.5 hour bike awayPresently, I'll sometimes go see her on a weekday evening. If I went car free, that wouldn't be an option. She would have to come to me instead.
