  1. Today – Palestinian prisonner day – I was at a joint Palestinian-Jewish #CombatantsForPeace vigil in #BeitJala.

    Out of 9446 Palestinian captives, only 1357 are convicted prisoners. 3398 are awaiting trial, and 3449 are "administrative prisoners" (a concept that boils down to "we ain't tellin' why we took them").
    79 are female, 350 are children.
    All of them are subject to various degrees of torture, hunger, sexual attacks, and medical care denial.

  2. Today (Friday) @neo and me have been to a #CombatantsForPeace protest at the northern entrance to #BeitJala, against the Israeli "execution of Palestinian prisoners" law.

    During the event, soldiers and cops surrounded the area and declared it a "closed military zone," threatening participants with immediate arrest if they did not end the protest.

    We tried to march outside "the zone", but were forced to end the demonstration, despite law and logic, because they can.

  3. Now in #BeitJala:

    A circle of women in white sitting in silence with signs in Arabic, Hebrew, or English.

    For example:
    * Justice
    * Equal rights
    * Refuse to be complicit
    * Resist opression

    Vigil is organized by #combatantsforpeace and circle of women in white.

  4. Yesterday, @neo and me went to #BeitJala for a joint Palestinian / Jewish vigil for the #forcibly_involved children who keep getting killed in #gaza for reasons no one can explain (although many keep trying to invent reasons and believe in them).
    It was refreshing to do this among people who know the truth and share our grief.
    Thanks to #Combatantsforpeace for organizing this, and to all the people who joined us 💗

  5. Today @neo and me were in a vigil of #combatantsforpeace in #BeitJala against the targeting of #gaza journalists (e.g. #AnasalSharif).
    Before the action we've prepared symbolic black vests with PRESS written on them in white and crosshairs or blood stains in red.
    We also had pieces of masking tape with closed zippers drawn on them.
    We got good responses and vibes from everyone passing around us except for some soldiers who soldiered people a bit so that we don't forget it's an occupation.
