The definitive Venn diagram on the subject.

The whole #BearVsMan thing is #PointlesslyGendered. I 100% choose bear, and that is stable if you change it to “Bear Vs Person” or “Animal vs Person.” Why? People are more capable and less predictable than animals.
If I’m alone and doing fine, I choose the lower variance encounter: the animal. I’m likely to remain in control.
If I’m alone and NOT fine, I choose the higher-variance encounter: the person. I’ve already lost control; the person could rescue me, the animal cannot.

Oh. OH. Y'ALL.
Moving on from #BearVsMan....
Talking with some churched friends, one of whom performs as a drag queen.
Who'd you rather meet in the woods: a preacher or a drag queen?
Me? DRAG. QUEEN.
ZERO. QUESTION.
Ftr, the whole group of us gave the same answer.

I just vaguely heard about this whole bear thing but this has to be the best meme on the subject! #StarWars #bearvsman

Is that article the priginal source of all the #bearvsman hype? Or is it a Trittbrettfahrer article?

Glad #BearVsMan conversation is happening. I wish it went beyond talking about individuals to discussing systems.
Bears don't have a culture around them that actively encourages treating women as their property.
"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."

Graphic I struggled in an awkward phone app to make while watching my (cis white male) kids play at the park. This essentially seems to be one of the biggest barriers behind men's understanding of the #bearVSMan / #bearOrMan debate--they're so fixated on how dangerous surviving a bear attack ONCE IT'S ALREADY ATTACKED is, vs what all us women are saying: which one is more LIKELY to attack in the first place. (no comment on the inshells who literally believe that bear attacks happen more often than even just femicide, ignoring all the other forms of SA that can be much worse than death)
There are of course many other reasons why the majority of women asked choose bear ("they can't impregnate you then force you to marry them" and "they can't buy a gun to get revenge on you for saying no" to name but a few), and the type of men who are too busy mansplaining how deadly a bear attack is ONCE IT'S ALREADY ATTACKED will never shut tf up long enough to learn why they're completely missing the point.
I gotta go make dinner so I can't finish writing all of this out... But hopefully the point is made. Now to prepare for all the inshell meninists who still snidely refuse to accept why they're the reason we choose bear 🙃
(igtg so I'll add alt text later)
Edit: changed the wording to be clearer on the graphic

I asked my 11yo daughter.
11yo: I'd say a bear. Because a man might be a tricky person. Bears aren't always dangerous, but tricky people are always dangerous.
She said the same if the stranger were a woman "unless she has kids with her."
We've taught her not about strangers but about "tricky people"--people who want to lure you into feeling safe with them so they can hurt you. And if she's in trouble in public, she's to look for a mom with kids before asking anyone else for help. -
The last one of these was, "Women, what would you do freely if all men disappeared for 24hrs?" The answers were simple things like, "Take a stroll at night alone, with headphones on." "Leave my drink at a bar while I went to pee." And, "Play video games with an unmuted mic."

In case you didn't realize it, the queer bear subculture is the solution to ALL the "would you ____ a bear or a man?" memes / conundrums. We're like a super specialized version of your gay best friend.

Lol man these #bearVSMan hot takes from the meninists just keep getting more wildly desperate. What?
(my thumb would break trying to type all this out as alt text, remind me Monday and I'll add it)

women: "you're not getting it. The bear vs man debate isn't about who would win in a physical conflict, it's about which one is more likely to hurt a woman in the first place"
men: "NO - U - DON'T GET IT, DUMB BITCH, THERES NO WAY YOU COULD PHYSICALLY FEND OFF A BEAR AS EASILY AS YOU COULD A HUMAN MALE" 🤦♀️
