At around the same time as the Humanum conference, Leo was invited onto the CIC board.

Leo’s children went to the two Opus Dei schools

— and he and his wife played an active part in school life,
donating thousands of dollars a year in addition to the many thousands they were paying in tuition for their various children.The Leos were also regulars at a deeply conservative church in McLean,
