#NewerLabour, even under Burnham, would probably extend the #BainPrinciple to include the Greens, and refuse to support it.

Petty-minded, dog in the manger tactics from #NewerLabour, who won't release a plan to reintroduce wild beavers, on the grounds that it's a 'Tory legacy'.
They do sometimes have good ideas, and this one is excellent. Labour's kneejerk response reminds me of their #BainPrinciple, where they refuse to back anything proposed by the SNP.

In the first vote on a #GazaCeasefire on 15 Nov, Labour MP, Tamanjeet Singh Dhesi explains to the HoC, the operation of the #Bainprinciple in which by default, Labour does not vote for @THESNP motions or amendments.
Is this why the Speaker agreed the Labour amendment last week?

Good to see there's cross-party support for removing VAT from sunscreen. I have a problem with the whole idea of VAT, which is essentially a sales tax, but that's another debate.
It will be interesting to see if #Starmer invokes the long-standing #BainPrinciple and refuses #Labour support simply because it's promoted by the #SNP.
