  1. While the badges @fossasia were selling at @fosdem have been hacked in 2013, user-facing means to use them are still lacking. Which is unfortunate, given that so many hackers now got them.

    Inspired by another excellent dev conference, I've put together a plan for the next generation of badge firmware and software:

    izv.ee/play-badge

    Basically, I wish it had an education potential, not just displayed text and sprites. I wish to amplify the fun.

  2. Since a lot of people have asked about my badge and my improvements to the badgemagic app: it's the fork at github.com/kleinesfilmroellche with the "clipart-import" branch. #39c3 #badgemagic #fossasia

  4. This week in #FDroid (TWIF) is live, but boring. Yes, the cycles run and run, yes 9 new apps are now included, yes 138 more updated. But as things go, with unattended updates, it's all background noise.

    What's special? It's the week of UI rewrites:
    * #Auxio got #MaterialDesign
    * #BadgeMagic is now #Flutter powered
    * #Spotube is now #shadcn UI themed

  5. Hey @fossasia :ablobcatwave:
    We noticed solder pads for a reset button on the back of the led badges... Would adding a button there omit having to remove the battery to reach the bootloader? #38C3 #badgemagic #ledbadgemagic

  6. A parcel from @fossasia with the latest version of the Pocket Science Lab and an LED Badge arrived today. 🎉 Did I mention that I am one of the mentors guiding a very talented student who added lots of improvements to the #PSLab app as part of the #GSoC? I also used the #BadgeMagic app for the first time today. I have several neat ideas about what I could do with the PSLab, but unfortunately so little time.
