  1. New #review today: "Sometimes you have to give up trying to make sense of the world and just accept things as they are. For example, why is there a band called #HoneyRideMeAGoat? I don’t know why they’re called that, but I do know that they’re a really interesting band, so I suppose they need a name. The group’s origins go back to 2000, when some students at Canterbury College bonded over a shared love of Captain Beefheart, Black Sabbath, and Soft Machine." #ExposeOnline #AvantJazz #AvantRock #AvantProg #CuneiformRecords expose.org/index.php/articles/

    K2:
Kayla Milmine (Saxophones soprano et sopranino, ainsi qu’une collection variée de curiosités musicales / Soprano & sopranino sax and a varied trove of sound-making curiosities)
Jonathan Kay (Saxophone soprano et ténor, esraj, shakuhachi, cor tibétain et tout un arsenal d'objets sonores / Soprano & tenor sax, esraj, shakuhachi, Tibetan horn, and an arsenal of sonic artifacts)

    https://k2improv.bandcamp.com/

K2 is an improvising duo by Kayla Milmine (soprano sax) and Jonathan Kay (soprano & tenor sax, esraj, shakuhachi, Tibetan horn). Their union delves into the raw, transformative powers of music, conjuring sound-rituals as sites fueled by indeterminacy, where boundaries are not just crossed but obliterated through transcultural improvisation and an unapologetically nomadic approach to sound.

  35. New #review today: "Most of the recent #DiscusMusic label releases by #PaulDunmall that we have reviewed here featured expansive groups of six or more players: Bright Light A Joyous Celebration was a sextet, Red Hot Ice was a nonet, and the most recent, Away with Troubles and Anxieties from 2025, was an eleven-piece; one would figure from that trajectory that the next one would be a fifteen piece band, but instead he’s dialed Afraid to Speak back to a quintet for all but the closing track, which features six." #ExposeOnline #Jazz #AvantJazz expose.org/index.php/articles/

  40. New #review today: "Between #JoBergerMyhre's bowed double bass, eight string bass, and extended guitar techniques, plus the Iranian percussion, there is a diverse array of unusual sounds coming together across these seven tracks, such that it puts it far outside the standard #jazz idiom, in fact it’s often closer to electric chamber music." #ExposeOnline #RareNoiseRecords #AvantJazz #ChamberJazz expose.org/index.php/articles/

New #review today: "#DiegoPiñera is a #jazz drummer originally from Uruguay, though he’s been based in Berlin for some time now, and his music certainly takes after those European artists who incorporate Classical influences into their jazz. New #review today: "We have previously encountered cellist #JanelLeppin as half of #JanelAndAnthony, as leader of #EnsembleVolcanicAsh, and as a member of Skullcap, but she’s got a lot more going on than just those releases. 2026 sees Cuneiform releasing a pair of albums under her name: Slowly Melting is a true solo effort, while Pluto in Aquarius is another album with Ensemble Volcanic Ash." #ExposeOnline #AvantJazz #AvantRock #ExperimentalMusic #AnthonyPirog #CuneiformRecords expose.org/index.php/articles/
