I had a great day outside with my husband yesterday, but I overdid it.

It's tough to remember that being in the sun for too long can mess me up so much. Having an autoimmune disease sucks. Even though my thyroid has been removed, my Hashimoto's still shows itself.

I now have multiple rashes, a minor sunburn, inflammation, exhaustion, and nausea. Just from being in the sun.

I don't understand why people want to get Covid over and over when it can cause autoimmunity and all this awful feeling.

Sometimes I worry that having an autoimmune disease will eventually cause me to ignore something serious, because there's ALWAYS something feeling off or hurting. Currently wondering if I am just getting a feedback loop of nasty symptoms that makes it hard to get rid of them, or if there's a more serious root cause. But stress from everything could definitely also be the reason. Sigh. #AutoimmuneDiseases

Started new job. It's a few days later, I'm in bed sick now cause a customer gave me something they had.

Thankfully I'm over the fever & headache, broke last night while I was sleeping. I know it's gonna be a few weeks until it's fully out of my system. I do not get paid sick leave so I can't afford to miss, but I do have two days off now. I'll be wearing my N95 for awhile, ect.

His view that sick people did it to themselves and deserve what's coming to them offers a nifty justification for Republicans' long-standing desire to deny health care to millions of Americans. Kennedy may dress this up as "prevention" or concern for children, but the message came through loud and clear: Medical patients are parasites who suck up resources from better, more responsible people
Instead, Kennedy blamed "chronic disease," a vague category that encompasses a cornucopia of ailments like "#autoimmunediseases, #neurodevelopmentaldisorders, #asthma, #Alzheimer’s, #ADHD, #depression, #addiction" and, with special emphasis, #diabetes. I'll leave it to the experts and fact-checkers to explain how badly he misrepresented the diverse causes of these conditions. What matters here is the rhetorical purpose "#chronicdisease" plays: Blaming the victims, and creating the pretext for taking their health care away.

Under prolonged badgering, Kennedy all but admitted he thinks care should be denied if your past behavior wasn't "healthy" enough. "Free speech doesn't cost anybody anything, but in health care, if you smoke cigarettes for 20 years and you get cancer you are now taking from the pool. Are you guaranteed the same right?" Kennedy snapped at Sanders

But this must be seen in the larger context of Kennedy's constant refrain: Most illnesses are a result of what people eat, so almost any health problem can be blamed on "personal choices," especially when you're as divorced from scientific facts as Kennedy is.
