  1. There's a kind of pride that's not moralistic or performative. It's closer to: I like who I am. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's okay to like myself. It's even good to like oneself.

And in fact, I do like how my brain works. Most of the time.

  2. I posted this a couple of years ago, but it's good to remember that there are many therapies that can help autistic people.

Thanks to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) for their public statement supporting different approaches.

  3. When some people learn you're Autistic, they may start treating you as less intelligent or incapable, even though nothing about you has actually changed. Or they might speak slower and use small words, because in some people's minds, that's what you do for someone who's disabled. With absolutely no nuance. 1/2

  4. For those of us who figure out we're Autistic and/or ADHD as adults, it's incredibly common to experience a mix of overwhelm, relief, regret, hope, anger, and excitement. Sometimes all at once.

    That's normal for us.
And figuring yourself out is worth it all.

  5. The story we've been told about autism is incomplete. 💙 I'm available for media appearances and interviews to talk about what autism actually looks like in adults — and what a world that genuinely includes and values autistic people could look like. Let's have a real conversation.

  6. If your Autistic child, friend, partner, family member, etc seems "dramatic" due to their routine being disrupted, they're not. It is truly world breaking for them when it happens. It feels awful. And it isn't their fault. Have patience, and take it a step at a time.

  7. CW: Mentions of politics

Would anyone be interested if I ever made a Substack account for my writing? It'd be for shits and giggles basically, I don't wanna feel obligated to write articles all the time. I'd probably write about politics and possibly esotericism. All of my articles would be free unless I get good traction on there.

For more background into my politics, I'm an independent from the US with a slight left lean. I'm also a bi AuDHD woman, so I'm able to bring a healthy dose of diversity into what I do! I think universal healthcare, inflation and privacy are the biggest issues in the US currently. That said, I'm also very passionate about neurodivergent advocacy and acceptance. I think neurodivergence is the biggest DEI issue that few talk about.
