  1. There's a kind of pride that's not moralistic or performative. It's closer to: I like who I am. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's okay to like myself. It's even good to like oneself.

    And in fact, I do like how my brain works. Most of the time.

  3. When some people learn you're Autistic, they may start treating you as less intelligent or incapable, even though nothing about you has actually changed. Or they might speak slower and use small words, because in some people's minds, that's what you do for someone who's disabled. With absolutely no nuance. 1/2

  4. For those of us who figure out we're Autistic and/or ADHD as adults, it's incredibly common to experience a mix of overwhelm, relief, regret, hope, anger, and excitement. Sometimes all at once.

    That's normal for us.
    And figuring yourself out is worth it all.
