@ChrisCorrigan I think that essay is largely correct; there are signs of a vibe shift regarding #MarkCarney: Canadians are starting to realise that they're not getting what they expected from his premiership, and at some point I expect them to decide that he misled them. (My evidence for changing sentiment is the #AtIssue panel, and the slow rise of the NDP, e.g., at https://338canada.com/federal.htm .)
Whether this will result in a #CPC government, with or without Mr. Poilievre, is hard to say.

The most interesting part of the #CBC #AtIssue panel last night was in the first segment: the dawning realisation that #MarkCarney is having limited success at resolving the #TrumpTariffs. We've cancelled countervailing tariffs, removed other irritants, and yet the expected date for a deal keeps moving into the future.

@acoyne may be right that no solid agreement *can* be struck with the White House. Still disappointing to those who expected a deal...

I feel old when I watch the #AtIssue panel on #CBC. How many people under 50 watch anything on the evening news? The *CBC TV* evening news? The weekly *political panel*?
But when I watch #PeterMansbridge's #GoodTalk, I feel young again. Peter, Chantal and Bruce: back to the 2000s!
The main value for me is to get a sense of what the Baby Boomers are thinking. Judging from the most recent episode, it's not promising for #MarkCarney .

Peak Carney? When the PM loses #RosemaryBarton, that’s a sign:

#PierrePoilievre has time now, she says. No general election in 2025, no imminent risk of Conservative MPs losing their jobs, a new opportunity to speak to Canadians.

On the #CBC #AtIssue panel, they're fairly convinced that #MarkCarney is blowing up the coalition that elected his government, alienating the left-leaning voters in BC and Québec who brought the Liberals over the line with the new pipeline MoU. Looking at the responses around here, that seems like a plausible assessment.
Why would he do such a thing? My own theory is that his goal as PM is to undo Justin Trudeau's economic policies.

I confess to not understanding this matter. What I know about it is largely from listening to the #CBC #AtIssue panel's video last week. I think it's in reference to Mr. Trudeau's involvement with the SNC-Lavalin scandal, but in 2025, why would Mr. Poilievre be discussing that at all? Was this on his Twitter feed, in an interview? Pierre Poilievre’s casual accusation of an RCMP cover-up is stunning
