😯💘 "Mun-dirra is the largest fish fence of its kind in the world, and #Australia’s largest-ever woven sculpture.
More than 35,000 threads from an estimated 4,400 #pandanus leaves have been used to make #Mundirra – all hand-harvested, dyed and woven by the women. If it were laid out as a single continuous thread, it would run to 56 kilometres."

History repeats itself with this large spanish mackerel (1m long) being caught by my diminutive partner who is barely 5 foot 3. It took over 7 minutes to land after the first bite. On a previous occasion she was the only one to catch anything. In this case she caught the largest fish on the entire trip , very much to the chagrin of many of the chaps on this tour.😂 👍 😍

My first hand exprience with Aboriginal curated bush medicine.
The leaves of a tree had been boiled creating an oily fragragrant brew with anti-inflamatory properties.
The leaves & the brew were then massaged gently onto my hands over some bruises and the treatment accelerated the recovery & their full disappearance.
The brewed substance although oily evaporated very quickly and left no stains whatsoever. And what made it more memorable was that the masseur was a famous Australian Aboriginal artist (Dhopiya Yunupingu!)👍 😍 :awesome_rotate:

Glorious sunset enjoyed with a sip of fine red at the Seven Spirit Bay resort in West Arnhem land downunder taken several days ago. So far have found these wilderness areas to be surpringly short of mozzies & flies -;could this be due to climate change?🥳😷😜🍷

Delightful sunrise captured several days ago enroute to the failed Victoria Settlement in West Arnhem downunder - abandoned by the colonialists due the mysterious fatalities of those who cultivated the soil.

Came across this very colourful critter during a recent walk in the Mt Borradaile area of West Arnhem in far north Australia - wondering if the redness is partly due to the red dust in the outback?😜

Light. It's all about the light. Cameras don't see birds or ripples or trees or leaves. They see light. Always the light.

A few moments from Arnhem Land that I'll treasure for a long long time. Flocks of Magpie Geese flying across the billabong. Whiskered Terns catching fish in amongst the lily pads in the shallows. Backlight illuminating the young Rock Figs at the site of the Rainbow Serpent.
I'm very lucky to have had the chance to travel in my lifetime. Through photography, I get to experience it all over again and again. -
Another montage from my last trip, this time deep inside the stronghold of mosquitos. I'm more scared of them than the crocs to be honest. Anyway, the Sigma 60-600mm is an absolute peach combined with the LUMIX S5II.
I need to write up a feature on that lens, and another comparing my experience with the full-frame S5II compared to my much loved G9 and the super-nimble 100-400mm (equivalent of 800mm).
