I hadn't seen the Argentina - Egypt match yet, so saw it today from recording and... I don't understand the controversy
Argentina didn't change, Egypt did. Subbed a bunch of people from 70' after the 0-2, and lost shape and sharpness, while Argentina added urgency and one-touch passing.
Only thing i can imagine is some sense of injustice that Egypt had a goal disallowed for a foul leading up, and felt there was a foul in lead-up to the 3-2 on Salah at the other end.
Knowing that there was controversy i looked for it.... and didn't see anything. Less surprising or remarkable comeback than Belgium in the round of 32. Argentina just kept doing what it was doing, when Egypt stopped defending.

Absolutely blatant thumbing of the scale. Pointless Egypt turning up, really; they could have had a day off and gone for a nice spa visit.
