    It’s interesting that “vexation” is condemned. Those who might blush at calling it robbery cannot deny the widespread vexation. Is there anything going on today that vexes the stranger?

    How can you provide relief to the poor and stranger?

  2. Richard Bernard, Puritan, on the governor, Nehemiah, who refused pay (chapter 5) when his people suffered in bondage. Great persons excelling in stature & wealth should be “melting” before the deserve to be called great. Bernard laments that he lives a frozen, cruel and an iron age.

    “Melting”. Isn’t this the very antithesis of modern theology?

    How can you be “melting” and truly great today?
