I was suspended from school for 2 weeks. The bully got off with less than a week. He never bullied me or anyone else again though. In grade 9 - many years later, he ended up approaching me at jr. high & apologized for picking on me when we were younger. He confessed that he never really had anything against me or any other POC kids but his parents hated people who weren't white & taught him to hate POC kids. His parents were abusive to him behind closed doors & he ended up in foster care. I was approached by him, with a genuine apology & we talked for 2 hours straight. This was 4 years into his foster family life. He got help/support for the CA endured & had changed a lot. I hugged him afterwards & told him that I forgive him. I told him that I'm thankful for his apology & that I'm sorry he had such awful parents because all kids deserve to have loving parents & a safe home.Sometimes, we are lucky enough to make peace with our former bullies.

Exciting news! My research proposal "What drives teacher responses to racist bullying? Testing an integrated theoretical model" has been awarded NWO funding!
Many children face racist bullying, and teachers often feel uncertain addressing it. Building on our earlier interview study (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2024.1393719), I'll test a theoretical model with primary & secondary teachers to identify factors that help or hinder effective responses.#Research #Education #Inclusion #AntiBullying #AcademicMastodon

真的忍不住要吐槽：主要面向在美码农群体的公众号（一亩三分地）最新一篇推送文章的措辞（以“变性人”来博眼球）真的很恶心人，当然jk rowling更加恶臭扑鼻。
跨性别个体的负面事例上升到否定该性别认同的整体，这种行为就和covid期间说是武汉肺炎中国人全是病毒有什么区别❓
我相信相同的事件如果是顺性别女性犯罪，舆论也会采取凸显女性性别的语言，而在顺性别男性犯罪则没有这样的问题（但顺性别的少数性取向男性犯罪则也会获得“相同的待遇”）。
不经想到，“主流”与“大多数”，就是通过这样潜移默化的语言逐渐绞杀和抹灭少数的声音的。
