Fixed data live on a call with a very sensitive customer.

Yeah, that's not something I want to do again for a long time.

Yesterday was a long work day! (it's okay, it was by my own choice)
Going to have a number of those in January I think. We have project that *really* needs to get done in the first quarter, and I think we're on track for it, but we do seem to be in a phase at the moment of "oh, here's a new wrinkle..."
In any case, I'm very grateful to have what seems to be steady work, with good people, not doing evil things.

Could the mere prospect of having to go into the office this morning be the cause of my low-grade headache? I took a couple acetaminophen this morning, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I hope they don’t have any long-term effects.
We live in such a stupid timeline.

Wednesday, Mastodonians, and the first meeting on the new contract happens this afternoon. Nice to be making money again, let me tell you.
Also, that leaves this morning for writing! YAY!

Every question I answer just leads to more and more questions. It's like peeling back the layers of an iceberg.

Was out all day yesterday and this one lost his cuddle time. Am watching a webinar while he gets caught up.

Submitted a conference panel I organized! Whew! Hoping it gets accepted & then you'll all hear about the four of us conference-panel-ing.
(It's local *and* hybrid, the best of all worlds)

AI this, LLM that, yet in this year 2024 of the common era I still have Turnitin give me false positives whenever a student copies the questions from the assignment into the answer file.
Doubly annoying because I *want* them to paste in the questions - sometimes they answer the wrong question and this way it's clear *what* they are answering.

Hate it when I forget to recompile when testing a change. #AmWorking

Google is entirely useless. Every word is replaced with something else and then of course I get results about something else.
I search for "lustrative" and I keep on getting "illustrative," NO, Google, that's not what I want.
None of the operators to exclude terms seem to work any more either...

Found out while working that the Talmudology blog is run by Jeremy Brown, Dr. Erica Brown's husband! I didn't know (it's mentioned on the website, but in a really modest & understated way). Power couple!
Talmudology you can read online, and from Erica Brown I recommend her book-length treatment of Jonah, The Reluctant Prophet. (Then you can read more, but this is a good place to start.)
