This is a nice overlap with our conversation at #AMRO22. It's worth considering what we left in Linz too, and what we brought with us, both in our own spaces and in that collective space.

We have all spoken recently about the individual-collective (or the shore-ocean?), that piece of us that is both things simultaneously.

Also spare a thought for the position of the seaweed, the fish, the crabs, the seamice and all the others equally swept up by the tidal thoughts.

Spending today thinking about teaching, apparently.

I was in a brilliant workshop in #AMRO22, where we soldiered jacks to the terminals of hand-crank generators. They spin fast enough that they work as oscillators.

I don' think I could squeeze that and the material about what is actually happening into a two hour slot.

I feel like a more inspired teacher could just do nothing but fun workshops and still cover how to do resistor maths, somehow, implicitly in the workshop materials.

Last year an artwork travelled from Ireland to exhibition in Norway, and was then lost for months in the beurocratic mist of Irish customs, before finally going back to Norway with its tail between its legs.

It has finally been handed to me, in person by @Pikselfest , in Austria at #AMRO22

After a long journey we are happy to be reunited.

I'm being added to the morning panel session tomorrow at #AMRO22 because the topic is related to my role at the Network Music Festival.

Tonight @drkmbnt did a performance that felt like maybe an embodied #algorave. It reminded me of Star Networks at the Singing Point and a nice paper from the 80s about electronics as interface.

If somebody reminds me, I'll look up these references properly.

The toplap manifesto says that algorithms ate ideas and chainsaws are tools. The affordance of shining light at little solar cells is very tool-ish in that there's a somewhat transparent link between action and sound. But I feel like the notion of bare metal interfaces bridges the gap.

There's also an element of circuit bending in his work. Perhaps this is a related practice? Its perturbation of an algorithm -almost.

Anyway, his little circuits appear to be easy to build and I'm eager to make one and also have some fun projects to do at uni.
