In the last two days, I've sent out two pitches for stories I very much want to write. One is a history story that plays nicely into a book proposal I'm slowly working on, and the other is a more timely climate wildlife piece for a market where I've always wanted to work.
They're out of my hands now. Time for a meeting, some dinner, and last week's Burrow's End to distract me.

Agent: I mean for your website rebranding.
me: How about a man that can't spell but writes books that sizzle and hates branding, with a fabulously massive spreadsheet of book boyfriends that are alpha but bake cookies and cakes?
Agent: I need chocolate.
