It's interesting to see that #Amcrest is rebranding as #Amlink and is switching from #Dahua cameras to #Foxconn cameras for their #USA based customers.
I've got a bunch of Amcrest cameras deployed but they're isolated on their own network because of how much they want to phone home (every few seconds when cut off from Internet access). But they're pretty decent IP cameras all things considered.
This is all because of the #NDAA that restricted or banned the sale of a lot of #China origin technologies in the USA. I guess the company couldn't pay enough money to get taken off the naughty list for the original manufacturer so they had to switch.
Important Message from Amcrest Industries
For the past 12 years, we have proudly built the Amcrest brand in the United States in partnership with Dahua, the world's second-largest manufacturer of IP surveillance cameras. Due to recent FCC regulations, however, we are no longer able to import Dahua-manufactured products into the United States. The good news is that we have partnered with Foxconn—one of the world's largest electronics manufacturers and the company that assembles Apple's iPhone—to launch our next-generation of IP surveillance products under the AMLINK brand.AMLINK delivers high-quality, NDAA-compliant IP cameras and NVRs designed for both residential and commercial applications. The platform supports third-party integration through RTSP and has been engineered for a smooth transition from existing Amcrest systems. AMLINK cameras are compatible with Amcrest NVRs, and Amcrest cameras are compatible with AMLINK NVRs, allowing customers to expand or upgrade their systems without replacing existing equipment.
For more than 12 years, we have remained committed to delivering exceptional customer support, a U.S.-based warranty, and reliable, high-quality products. That commitment continues under the AMLINK brand. Our customers can expect the same dedication to end-user privacy and security, dependable hardware and software, and the intuitive, user-friendly experience that has defined our products from the beginning.
While our manufacturing partnership has evolved, our mission reamins unchanged: to provide innovative, reliable surveillance solutions backed by outstanding customer service and long-term support.
Amcrest Industries LLC will continue to provide support and operate as a distributor of the AMLINK brand. You can contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].
