It's interesting to see that #Amcrest is rebranding as #Amlink and is switching from #Dahua cameras to #Foxconn cameras for their #USA based customers.
I've got a bunch of Amcrest cameras deployed but they're isolated on their own network because of how much they want to phone home (every few seconds when cut off from Internet access). But they're pretty decent IP cameras all things considered.
This is all because of the #NDAA that restricted or banned the sale of a lot of #China origin technologies in the USA. I guess the company couldn't pay enough money to get taken off the naughty list for the original manufacturer so they had to switch.

Одна из моих IP камер перестала сохранять настройки для FTP сервера и перестала в него писать. В остальном она работает, поток RTSP смотреть можно. Камера писала в формате DAV, а роутер будет писать как получится. Роутер тот самый, что пишет онлайн радио в себя и делает другие безобразия. Надо бы ему, наверно, уже имя дать. А получится так: rtsp из камеры, в бесплатное облако, из облака m4s куски в роутер и потом ffmpeg склеит их в mp4 на компе. Смотреть далее

Ch4IR: мой 4х канальный видеорекордер на Android который не умеет делать запись
Да, в далёком 2018г. я целых 24 часа работал на какой то фабрике в Подмосковье. Делающей салаты и другие полуфабрикаты. В каком то отделе, то ли контроля, то ли безопасности. В общем надо было смотреть в камеры видео наблюдения. Ну и вроде всё, сутки через трое. Хотел уйти с 5/2 на 1/3. Но я не согласился, слишком тяжело, слишком. Через 6 лет после тех суток я начну изучать Java и пробовать писать приложения на андроид. Третьим моим пет приложением будет Ch4IR. Написанный на библиотеке LibVLC и в память о несложивщейся карьере в сесурити. Он был настоящим RTSP рекордером: отображал 4 потока, писал 4 потока на флешку или usb диск, нарезал куски видео по 60 минут и автоматически удалял записи старше указанной даты. Он умел воспроизводить записи и перематывать их. Но всё изменилось, перед самой публикацией. Назад в 2025

Replaced the cheap #tuya camera doorbell with an #amcrest one (ad410). 10 times the price but local control thanks to the #dahua #homeassistant integration. And more importantly: a purely local camera feed. Nobody in China or elsewhere sees who is passing by or visiting us. Honestly, I cannot fathom how anyone would not care about #privacy in this case.
