  4. From David Dayen / #AmericanProspect prospect.org:
    @ddayen

    “The reason is that it’s an #election year, & #Republicans have once again decided that their path to victory goes right through the U.S.-Mexico #border. Inflation & the economy were effective complaints in 2023, but they are starting to recede. Transgender rights have been a disastrously unproductive wedge issue for Republicans. But #immigration is the one area where they’ve put Joe #Biden on the back foot….”

  9. CW: Long thread/4

    But what really caught my eye was @ddayen's #AmericanProspect article about the judge's commentary on the state of the #aviation industry:

    prospect.org/infrastructure/tr

    Why, after all, have Spirit and Jetblue been so ardent in pursuing mergers? Jetblue has had two failed merger attempts with Virgin, and this is the *third* time they've failed in an attempt to merge with Spirit.

  14. #Israel’s Dwindling Moral High Ground

    “Prime Minister Bibi #Netanyahu, whose arrogance and blunders left Israel open to the #Hamas massacre, is rapidly squandering a moment of global goodwill and moral high ground. A large majority of Israelis correctly blame Netanyahu for leaving the #Gaza border defenseless by moving most of the Israeli army to defend illegal West Bank settlers who never should have been there in the first place.”

  19. In his #AmericanProspect editorial, "What Comes After Neoliberalism?", #RobertKuttner declares "we’ve just about won the battle of ideas. Reality has been a helpful ally...Neoliberalism has been a splendid success for the top 1 percent, and an abject failure for everyone else":
