I cannot get that stuff out even with a bladed sculpting tool that will scratch the metal, so I give up, at least for now. It's thin enough that the detail will probably still be visible after new primer and paint.

CW: More dirty-ass bare naked robots.
At this point, I may have to give in and admit that without an ultrasonic cleaner, these are not going to lose the discoloration or get the grooves cleaned out. A wire brush and a steel pick have both failed to get the red and/or white off/out.
An ultrasonic cleaner may not even work, tbqh.
