We are in, and have been some time, an #AgeofImpunity. Normally revolutions follow such periods. @shawnwegner Or they want publicity around the time his most challenging primary opponent announces his bid for president. It seems we in the public are always waiting and hoping for justice, but the weak promise of justice is only used to generate publicity and clicks.

This really needs to be the narrative in history books in the next 25 years. I want my grandchildren (who don't exist yet) to know how this court was fully corrupted by money and power, and how that ultimately ended the empire.
But it is also VERY important to remember that we solve #CitizensUnited by eliminating the enormous wealth disparities in this country. It is the only way, as far as I see it.

@PattyHanson If something ever spelled #AgeOfImpunity that's it. And it's not just the system, it is our fellow citizens who fail to realize how open and bold the kleptocracy has become. Giving a twice impeached, currently tried, game show host a platform based on popularity over substance is asinine, but the popularity part is our fault as much as our multi-tiered justice system's.

Today the US government took over a failing bank and sold it to our largest bank. In order to sell it, it had to use $13,000,000,000 taxpayer dollars to split insurance on uninsured funds. Once again, we socialized losses of banks whose gains are private. Once again, we were told it was far better than the alternative.
So, what is the alternative? Well, the alternative is to unmask the system as a complete scam that redistributes wealth away from those who need it most. The maneuver was a slight adjustment to a house of cards.

Call me a curmudgeon, but I think all we witnessed today in New York was a pageant of an unequal and partial-to-money justice system. We put it out there in full display that some are treated very differently when they break the law.
