As far as I’m concerned, Trump’s just given the Canadian aircraft company “Bombardier” the best publicity it can get! Come the lottery win, I’ve already chosen my personal daily flyer.
Go Canada!!!

The Douglas XSB2D-1 Destroyer was designed as a replacement for both the Douglas SBD Dauntless and the Curtiss SB2C Helldiver. Not long after its first flight on 8 April 1943, the US Navy requested a torpedo bomber be developed from the XSB2D-1. This resulted in the Douglas BTD Destroyer. Only 2 prototypes of the XSB2D-1 were built as the order was converted to BTD Destroyers instead. https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/douglas-xsb2d-1-destroyer/ #aviation #aeroplane #airplane #DouglasXSB2D #DouglasDestroyer #TorpedoBomber #USNavy

When Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, many experienced Polish airmen escaped through Romania to France, determined to continue the fight against the Axis powers. Among the aircraft types they flew in combat during the Battle of France, was the Morane-Saulnier M.S.406, France’s principal fighter at the outbreak of World War II. https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/morane-saulnier-m-s-406-in-polish-service/ #aeroplane #Aircraft #airplane #aviation #fighter #MoraneSaulnierMS406 #PolishAirForce #SecondWorldWar #WorldWarTwo #WW2

The Hall PH flying boat first flew in December 1929. The US Navy ordered nine PH-1s which equipped VP-8 from 1932. The PH-1 was replaced by the Consolidated PBY-1 Catalina in 1937.
In 1936 the US Coast Guard ordered seven PH-2s. In 1939, an additional seven PH-3s were ordered. The Coast Guard continued operating the PH-2 and -3 until 1944. https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/hall-ph-flying-boat/ #aviation #aeroplane #airplane #aircraft #HallPH #Flyingboat #USCoastGuard #USNavy #WW2 -
The Blackburn firebrand was a carrier based strike fighter of the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. Originally designed as a fighter, its low performance led to a redesign as a strike fighter.https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/blackburn-firebrand/ #BlackburnFirebrand #TorpedoFighter #StrikeAircraft #RoyalNavy #FleetAirArm #fighter #fighterplane #plane #aeroplane #aircraft #airplane #aviation #aerialwarfare #military #navy #naval #navalaviation

Douglas BTD Destroyer
Developed from the Douglas XSB2D-1 Destroyer as a torpedo bomber for the US Navy, the Douglas BTD Destroyer first flew on 5 March 1944. It differed from the XSB2D-1 with the removal of the turrets and second crewman, the addition of more fuel and armor and wing racks that could carry two torpedoes. https://www.destinationsjourney.com/historical-military-photographs/douglas-btd-destroyer/ #aerialwarfare #aeroplane #Aircraft #airplane #aviation #DouglasBTD #DouglasDestroyer #DouglasBTDDestroyer #Military #USNavy #warfare -
#AirAsia has converted 36 of its #A321neo (new engine option) orders to #A321LR (long-range) as it aims to merge its #shorthaul and #longhaul divisions into one global network
The decision to change aircraft type is so that AirAsia could have more flying range to connect the #SoutheastAsia region to Africa, Europe and America

Curtiss Model D Pusher, 1912 (replica). Glenn Curtiss was engaged, sometimes in a legal sense, in a fight with the Wright Brothers for dominance in the world of early aviation - Curtiss machines had ailerons, rather than the Wright-designed wing warping, for roll control. Although the Model D suffered, as did most of the early pusher designs, from higher drag due to the wide-spaced rear fuselage frame members, it was still a useful machine, performing both the first take-off from a vessel (Nov. 1910) and the first landing (Jan. 1911). This replica is of a 'headless pusher', so called by Curtiss because the earlier forward mounted canard control surfaces were omitted in this model #earlyaviation #biplane #GlennCurtiss #Curtiss #aeroplane #pusher #aircraft #navalaviation #USA #WrightBrothers #avgeek #aviationlovers #CurtissModelD #museum #replica
