  25. @3mpwrApp built this ML system to reduce one of the biggest barriers to justice: unknown outcomes.

By analyzing 50,000+ Ontario tribunal decisions, we’re uncovering patterns to reduce uncertainty and improve access to justice.

Less uncertainty. Better data. Better outcomes.

    #LegalTech #AccessToJustice #MachineLearning #3MPWRAPP

  26. @3mpwrApp built a machine learning (ML) system that classified 50,161 Ontario tribunal decisions across 6 tribunals.

Initial results show 85.1% classification success.
We’re now manually reviewing 592 decisions to validate real-world accuracy.

    Below 70%: improve the model.
Above 70%: publish the validation report.

Transparency matters. Better data. Better access to justice.

  27. We’re @3mpwrApp building Ontario’s legal intelligence system to turn 50,161 tribunal decisions into actionable insights for injured workers, persons with disabilities, and advocates.

📊 Goal: Improve known outcomes from 16.8% to 70–80%

⚖️ Open-source, transparent, and free forever

  28. Every tribunal decision we analyze helps improve @3mpwrApp

The more accurate data we collect, the better we can build:

    🌟 Knowledge bases

    🌟 Step-by-step guides

    🌟 Templates and checklists

    🌟 Visualizations and analytics

This research directly feeds our flywheels.

Better data → Better tools → Better support → Better outcomes for injured workers and persons with disabilities.

That’s why we’re building in public.

  30. The math doesn’t work...

    ODSP: $1,368/month

Average 1-bedroom rent in Ontario: $2,200+/month

That leaves a deficit of $832 before food, medication, transportation, or phone bills.

We analyzed 1,204 WSIB tribunal decisions.

    Not to study them.

    → 6 plain-language guides
    → 3 professional appeal templates
→ Built from real case patterns

  39. Saw this first from a Bleat-sky post—lawyering appearing for the DOJ in U.S. v. Letitia James filed a bad PDF and was given instructions on how to file a proper one—but wanted to dig a bit more into it. If you search for "pdf" and "notice of error" in the doc descriptions, you can see plenty (wrong form, bad PDFs, etc.). Makes me wonder how many cases have issues and why the fillable/non-fillable form issue seems so common.

  40. Preparing to teach legal research and writing for the first time in awhile. I'm not a Bluebook fan but, with a new edition, updated my tab system from the last edition I used heavily and upped my color game! The system is a money spinner for elite law schools. So glad to see Illinois' lenient citation approach. I'm hoping to help shift students to the free Indigo Book (indigobook.github.io/) and plug public domain citation formats.
