Interesting to think what a Kari Lake candidacy could have been as a policy driven leader detached from culture war issues and non-alignment with former president's cult of personality.
She's a media savvy alpha personality who may have attracted a broad coalition of voters. Instead, she placed all her chips on one side of the political table and that just doesn't and won't have the numbers to win.
It'll be interesting if she seeks to rehabilitate her fringe public persona.

This is post on the #2022elections - it will take awhile before enough complete data is out to make any strong assertions about what happened - they're still counting votes in so much of the US. That being said, I'm very curious to see if there's eventually a connection drawn between the influence of Trump on various races and Kevin McCarthy's 2021 trip to Mar-a-Lago. That trip seemed to end any possibility of the GOP ridding itself of Trump and restored his position as power broker.
