A Day Trip
Emma Miller – Unsplash.comSlowly, I drifted into a deep hypnotic state, feeling lighter and lighter. I could hear the hiss of the radiator, signaling the warmth to come. In the distance, I heard a shot from a rifle, hoping nothing cute was slowly dying. Then the steam from the radiator moistened the air around me, and I felt my face flush with heat. Slowly, the image of a beetle formed before my eyes, and I was somehow transported to a small spot of grass. I could smell perfume wafting towards me from swaying bodies, their skin shining with psychedelic radiance. What a trip.
