Specialization is greatly overrated by specialists who dedicate their lives to rating such things. As soon as one says, with great pride, “I am a Board Certified Tulip Bulb Appraiser,” it is tantamount to nailing oneself inside the proverbial box with the undead cat and a book of crossword puzzles and calling it a day.
Is spending hours learning how to expertly prompt a soon-to-be extinct stochastic parrot to do trivial tasks really worth it?
Wise prose is a different matter indeed.
Wisdom should be more of an unintended consequence of experience distilled from the results of dangerously unwise actions aged in an ancient oak cask, or boiled down into a potion like a thimble-full of Turkish coffee to be savored and sipped as carefully as a mug of nearly flaming hot buttered rum on a chill winter night after a long day of foolish misadventure in pursuit of exceedingly rare midnight blue carnivorous Frostschmetterlinge and elusive black unicorns in the tangled misty and mysterious forest of wishful nightmares and fairytale waking dreams.
One can use vocabulary to pantomime wisdom, but pantomime wisdom is not at all the same as the real thing consumed one tiny bitter drop at a time. Stove burns broken hearts and all.
We’ve been inundated with a flood of pantomime wisdom for years until we think “unicorn” when we see a common goat and are amazed by its extra horn.
Der Drumpfsterfeuer and his despicable Army of the Smarmy: Fieldmarsupial Hedgehog, Nosferatu, VP Shady-Pants, Mr. Muskrat, let us not forget Squeaker of the House MAGA-Mouse, or Agony General Slipshod Todd and Crash Prattle all masking their idiocy and sadistic evil mediocrity with pantomime wisdom foisted upon us with the complicity of a submissive subservient subpar senile supine seditious self-serving scuttling scurrilous sycophantic snake-oil-selling Senate emitting more S’s of doom than a slow leaking Zeppelin waiting for a spark.
