  2. 100 days of netcup: what nobody tells you beforehand

One netcup VPS, 100 days of self-hosting tests: 73 GB of disk used with a single container running – 91 % of it leftover Docker images. Plus the quirks that each cost an evening: blocked SMTP, a UDP-stateless firewall and a 14½-minute host reboot.

  5. 🚨🇫🇷 Delatad allegedly breached, sensitive client requests and personal information exposed

Delatad, a French service that helps individuals remove personal information, photos, and videos from the internet, has been targeted by the actor "suicid".

The actor claims to have compromised the company's administration panel and obtained client inquiries containing names, email addresses, phone numbers, and sensitive requests involving online content removal.

The actor also claims to have abused Delatad's SMTP server to send emails to clients and prospective customers.

Sample records and download links have been published. The breach remains unverified.

  6. No news from tilde.team since the past August.. :zipper_mouth_face:

tilde.team got hacked. Someone was able to gain a root shell and ran rm -rf /. There's very little left to track down what happened or who did it. I take daily backups of the VM it's on so we lost at most a couple hours of files.

I'm currently working on restoring services that ran on the same host that users log in to. ssh access is currently disabled in the meantime. The plan is to move all services that are able to run elsewhere to the new VM I've created for those services. The mailserver is currently back up and running and you should be able to resume using IMAP/SMTP as usual.

Some of the services and sites I've already moved are:

    tildegit.org
    tilde.news
    gopher.tildeverse.org
    bbj.tildeverse.org
    write.tildeverse.org
    zine.tildeverse.org
I'm still evaluating what to do with IRC, XMPP, email, nextcloud, and a few others.

I'll post another update here when shell access is re-enabled.

  8. I want my own blog, website.
Luckily I have a dynamic public IPv4 now.

How should I host it though? I will look into best, efficient server software for this. Typically I use darkhttpd, to share files, however maybe smth else will be better.

    For now btw at soupborsh.dedyn.io
a 26.2+ minecraft server is running. It uses Fabric, so all redstone contraptions should work. Online mode is off, there are logins and passwords.
