Join us for a talk/reading/Q&A to discuss how systems of oppression are interconnected, how Palestinian liberation is linked with queer and trans liberation, environmental justice, gender justice, disability justice and so much more.
Mx. Yaffa, (@yaffasutopia on Instagram), an indigenous Trans Palestinian will be joining to talk about these connections and how we can build a liberated world through intersectional movement building.
Yaffa will be discussing two of their books Desecrated Poppies and Whispers Beneath the orange grove to guide the conversation.
Books will be available for sale and Yaffa will sign books after the talk/ reading/Q&A.
Please bring cash for book purchases. 100% of funds from book sales go to support Trans Palestinians in Gaza.
We start at 16:00 and it will run for 2 hours. It will be held in English with a Czech/English speaking moderator.

Q: what is halloween about? is it satanic?
Halloween is a cultural holiday with roots in the ancient #Celtic festival of #Samhain and later Christian traditions like All Hallows’ Eve. Today it’s mostly about costumes, candy, spooky decorations, and folklore.
It is not inherently satanic. For most people, it’s a secular celebration. Some religious groups avoid it because of its spooky imagery, but the holiday itself isn’t based on Satan worship.
Q: why do people dress up spooky on halloween?
Because Halloween grew out of traditions about ghosts, spirits, and the “thin veil” between the living and the dead. Dressing spooky was a way to fit the theme, scare off bad spirits, or playfully mock fear.
Over time, it became more about fun than belief: monsters, witches, vampires, ghosts make holiday feel eerie and entertaining.
