You love to see it.
We thought a week ago that the new lane striping on Seventh Ave from Times Sq down to 34th looked suggestive, but it wasn't finished yet and we wanted to see more evidence.
We rolled that way Sunday evening and discovered, there is indeed fresh kermit marking a new bike lane on Seventh.

So I know there are various problems with green-painted bike lanes (paint can be slippery in the rain, it's a wasteful amount of paint, and so on), but.. when you're biking w/ a 7yo, it sure is a lot easier to just tell her "stay in the green part!".

Anyone know what the story is with the water covering the Hudson River bikepath below Pier 97 (about W 56th St). We thought Thursday night it was a one-time thing but there it was again Saturday night.
We know 95% of cyclists don't care about this (ooh, some water splashing my ankles!), but it can be a big problem for skaters. Not just the slipping, but also the possible damage to skate bearings.
Good thing there is a navigable detour.

The improved lighting last weekend on the detour on the WSBP at 58th St is explained. The utility work there was almost done, and now there's no detour at all. Just watch out for a bit of new asphalt where they patched a hole in the path.

After two months of navigating the scary pitch black detour on the WSBP [*] at 58th St after sunset, our minds were blown Sunday night to find the spot lit up like Times Square. Thank you to whoever [**] was responsible for this.
[*] West Side Bike Path = Hudson River Greenway for the young'ns.
[**] We complained to the Hudson River Park Trust about this spot a month ago and got a fast reply that it wasn't their responsibility, but was the city's. -
Biked 40 miles as part of the #FiveBoroBikeTour #BikeNYC Was an absolute blast, but now my legs are spaghetti

I was in the #QueensBlvdPBL with my (bakfiet) cargo bike, and some lady pulls her car about 20-30ft in front of me. Predicting what would happen next, I gave a wide berth as her passenger flung the door open just before I passed them.
I screamed "ASSHOLE" at the top of my lungs, scaring tf out of both of them. It felt good.

I absolutely despise these rumble strips on the #QueensBlvdPBL. They're at *every* *single* intersection, every mid-block crossing, and every car merge*. Feels like they're like every 200 feet for miles, and they rattle my brain every time no matter what speed I go over them. I've never before wanted suspension on my bike..
#BikeNYC #Queens
* Drivers? Go as fast as you want (despite having a stop sign). Bikes? Whoa, slow down there Speedy Gonzalez (despite technically having the right of way)! -
Little kids biking with their parents on the Queens Blvd "protected" bike lane deserve *actual* protection, not just a few sad broken flex posts.
Note the cars parked on the sidewalk portion of the PBL.

Classic #NYC dysfunction:
CM Brooks-Powers complains about DOT not getting the bike lanes and bus lanes done while at the same time blocking those very projects.
