I really like #Radiance as a boss fight in #HollowKnight, it's really clean and reads so well with obvious answers for each attack which are just complicated enough to be hard to execute.
But #AbsoluteRadiance is too far I think.

Note to self: #esbuild playground environment with all the settings for debugging `ngDevMode` tree shaking:
(I find the configuration very confusing to figure out and keep struggling each time I need to do this.)

I've been watching #Diplomat and enjoying it in general, but I find fantasy political content to be so jarring.
The show centers on US / British relations and offhandedly mention relatively recent things like Brexit and the Afghanistan withdrawal, but none of the key players exist.
None of Biden, Trump, Farage, Johnson, Xi, Putin seem to exist in this universe and are never mentioned.
I guess that's fine if you want to avoid that baggage and tell a different story, but then I need some kind of anchoring of the political history of this world.

I finally picked up #HollowKnight last night and having an absolute *blast*.
Loving the combat, mechanics, exploration, character design... it's all amazing. Only just made it to #Hallownest, but I'm definitely hooked.

`jj new` feels like it will take some getting used to, I'm not convinced the Git integration is *quite* there yet, and I really want to name individual commits. I think you can kinda solve that last one with bookmarks, but it's clearly not the intended use of them.
I wasn't able to get the diff editor working with #Meld, which is a shame because moving content between commits is an area I frequently struggle with and feel there's better UX opportunities out there. Hopefully I can get that working at some point in the future.

Now that we have an official look for #Angie, I'd love to hear some ideas from the community about where and how we can incorporate them into #Angular!
I have some initial ideas bouncing around but want to know what you all think.
And don't feel limited to this style! The design is intentionally flexible to swap out the helmet with whatever fits the rest of the image.
Throw in a jetpack, an Indiana Jones hat, a mysterious cloak, whatever you can think of.

CW: Hades spoilers after first escape
Maybe I'm wrong and story progression actually isn't that tied to successful escape attempts, but when the only goal I'm given is to "escape more times", I feel like the game is actively telling me that's the case.
Maybe it's misleading me or I'm misinterpreting it, but whether or not it's factually true that I need to escape to progress the story is irrelevant. Ultimately I *believe* it's true as a player and that belief demotivates me from playing the game enough to actually find out the truth.
I might play a little more Hades largely out of boredom and a desire to not start #ClairObscur quite yet.
But I feel like I'm playing *despite* the game's story, not because of it. I love #SuperGiant stories, but this one just isn't working for me.

Randomly thinking about the `shadowrootadoptedstylesheets` proposal today and had some thoughts about how it could support streaming use cases better.

CW: #Hades spoilers through first successful run
This is probably a fundamental design challenge of having a story-driven #rougelike. You either need to end the story at first completion (which demotivates the player from repeating) or continue the story and find a way to progress the mechanics in line with narrative tension.
Clearly the devs went with the second option, but I'm not sure it quite lands the right narrative hook or mechanical change to keep me invested.
I'll probably play at least a few more runs, but I suspect its more due to my desire to better master the game mechanics rather than the narrative.

I really appreciate content creators like #ExtraHistory meeting the current moment with background on US deportations and their historical context.
I highly recommend this series to see this kind of behavior for what it so blatantly is, racism.

Ok chat, I'm gonna be on some long plane flights soon with a #SteamDeck and I'm feeling FOMO regarding recent sequel releases of popular franchises I missed, so should I pick up:
1. #Hades
2. #HollowKnight
3. #NineSols -
Against my better judgement, I've been continuing to watch #Sandman.
There's lots to criticize but I keep coming back to the ruby he losses in episode 1, and then promptly forgets about. There's a short subplot where we see someone else with it, but Dream himself never follows up on it.
And now, every conflict has me yelling at the screen:
"Sure would be nice to have a magical wish-fulfilling ruby right about now huh?!"
