Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 really is a creative masterpiece in every possible way.
I still cannot believe how they took the most boring game genre (imo) and made one of the best games with it. Every fight feels so good.
This game and Noita (another one of my favorites) also do make me think that games without guardrails to preserve game balance are the best ones. Just allow me to create a build that utterly destroys even the most difficult boss. It's fun!

There's something to be said for a game that allows you to fight the same battle for over an hour, but a) you understand that you have the ability to finish it with slightly better timing, and b) not get angry/throw the controller in frustration for that long of a sequence.
(specifically, the Chromatic Ramasseur in the Visages area of #clairobscur . Also yes, I'm bad at parrying, so it took a while.)

#BeastOfReincarnation wants to tell a story that's similar in size to something like #ClairObscur but it's got absolutely none of the finesse or style that Expedition 33 had in spades.
You're left watching legit hours of tediously writing and boringly animated cut-scenes just to get back to the (admittedly rather fun, if a little repetitive) action.
It's a real shame. A more talented team could really have done something interesting with this world, story and game.

Tolles Game. Nicht in allen spielerischen Belangen perfekt, aber die Story und ihre melancholische Grundatmosphäre sind grandios. Dazu diverse philosophische Anspielungen. Was für eine Reise.

Thank you all for participating in this poll gamers.
I will drop Clair Obscur, because even after setting the difficulty to Story I can't hear the clues for dodging and parrying (it's a me thing, no worries, same reason I could never get into music, sadly) and the fact I can't enjoy the mechanics due to a physical limitation really makes me frustrated.
I will sell it on the second hand market so someone else will thoroughly enjoy it - hopefully :)

Das Wochenende ein wenig gezockt und bisher gefällt es mir sehr gut. Sympathische Charaktere, toll erzählte Story, abgedrehte Welt, stimmige Musik, hier und dort eine Prise Humor und für mich größtenteils auch ein gutes Gameplay.
Von wegen, Videospiele wäre keine Kunstform. Ich liebe es, weil man nicht nur Zuschauer*in ist, sondern aktiver Teil der Geschichte. 🎮

I'm interested in playing some current #games such as #ClairObscur and whatnot, but very unenthusiastic about spending money on a new graphics cards.
I dont really ever feel the need to play any AAA games, and IMO the AA games that use the wasteful current-gen graphics engines are beautiful, but not more so than the ones that use last gen graphics or even older. Im putting #ClaireObscur into that bucket.
