    @underlap content migration has historically been a difficult problem to solve simply because all these companies and softwares operate in pseudo-competition with one another.

    For example #nodebb can migrate posts from #phpBB #vBulletin etc., but it's all custom migrators.

    Something as simple as a common format for data portability would go a long way towards ease of content migration.

    I am not certain many users elect to use or not use platforms based on portability though.

    It is wonderful that has taken steps to support the `DiscussionForumPosting` type. They used to classify forum topics/posts by their own proprietary metrics and formulas, and it was always a gamble as to what Google would consider indexable. With these latest changes, **site owners themselves** are able to explicitly highlight which items are important for search engines to consume, in a standards-compliant way. 💯 !

    Its honestly worrying that keeping this working properly after a migration isn't as easy as it was on the old server. Everything functioned fine then as I worked on the other instances things got worse.

    The forums function as forums but are supposed to federate. What made it all confusing was how everything seemed to work normally between my personal circle but no so much beyond it.

    If anyone has any thoughts let me know.

    So far I have built the NodeBB forums as suppliments for content Sites I plan to build for them.

    NodeBB installs with a long form Blog section as a default. What's to stop me from using it like that while it being NodeBB allows others to come in and contribute ideas and such to the system?

    Having Project catergoies and such maybe.

    Thoughts?

    So, we held off in making it available.

    But now, NodeBB Fediverse support is there.

    So, after we update to the new version (NodeBB 4.0.0) and do some quality-assurance (QA) testing, we will make it available on spacehost.one/
