@Badgardener for those unfamiliar with a country about 700km long with a coastline considerably longer than England’s it might have been more useful to describe the location as #Caithness rather than just Scotland.
Otherwise visitors might believe Scotland is just like a wee county when in fact, it is larger than all the countries in the list below -
#bourtononthewater need to get their act together. Making 70 and 80-year-olds walk 15 minutes from the coach drop to the High Street along very narrow pavements with aggressive drivers and some roads with no pavement whatsoever is a joke.
Why don’t they just put a sign up at the entrance to the village which says elderly and disabled not welcome?

There was much talk of expanding the mezzanine overpass inside Waverley station, but it is far more logical to use the original entrances on Waverley Bridge down to the main concourse level. From there there are only five platforms that require a change of level- 1,8,9,10 & 20.
The remaining 15 platforms are all directly accessible from that level.Far simpler than trying to build a complete new mezzanine floor with lifts and escalators to ALL the platforms. #Scotrail #waverley #networkrail

@ChrisMayLA6 this government would appear not only to be not labour, but also incredibly slippery.
Many countries have suggested making politicians liable for false declarations. I wonder if that would reduce their mendacity and slipperiness.

@bovine3dom @partim yes getting the vehicle against tax is another story. But slipping it under the safety regulations is something on a different level. All European vehicles are subject to the same crash testing, with no exceptions over 1.5 tons.
Which makes them inherently safer for both for the passengers and other road users. In the USA, there’s no crumple zone in 1.5 ton trucks and no rollover prevention. Passengers have no protection whatsoever
#DeathTraps -
@partim the reason it weighs as much is to avoid the construction and use regulations in the USA. Anything over 1.5 tons is regarded as a truck and therefore does not have to undergo crash testing, stability testing or fuel consumption measuring. It costs the manufacturers much less to build as a result, which is why they promote them so strongly 💵
The consumer has no idea they’re buying a chassis truck from the 1950s which will kill them if they crash or roll over #notech -
