Dear #PyconUS -- I love you, and maybe last year Cory Doctrow was a bit much -- but this is quite an overcorrection.

Did anyone take a photo of @baconandcoconut pineapple pizza slide? 🍍🍕
As an Italian, I was too shocked to react quickly enough and capture it myself 😭

Always love seeing the Pacman rule at the #PyconUS intro. If you want to read more, see my blog post from 9 (!) years ago.

Either my multi-hashtag search is malfunctioning or we’ve definitely standardized on #PyConUS, so I’ll have to retrain my brain to prefer it over #PyCon. (Edit: yup, it’s official guidance, see replies!)
(Confusion about which to prefer is probably just faulty memory - I do remember we try not to make it seem like this is “the” PyCon, because it very much isn’t. But lazy is as lazy does…)

"I hope that none of you here are the ones putting out the malware. You'll make @miketheman sad." @baconandcoconut #PyConUS

During the welcoming this morning at #PyconUS it was mentioned that after the talks finish on Sunday, the sprints take place on Monday and Tuesday. I'd definitely recommend checking them out and I'm interested in seeing how many more people are there this year.
If you'd like to see what projects have already signed up to sprint, check out https://us.pycon.org/2026/events/dev-sprints/

After the opening keynote at #PyConUS2026 you can check out some #PyConUSOpenSpaces before the talks start at 11am. The keynote runs until 10:30am but some of these open spaces may start earlier. You're usually fine popping in mid-way, so maybe enjoy the keynote?
Starting at 10:00 AM:
Room 102A: CTF for fun and profit
