  6. DjangoCon Europe 2024 Article written, over to @jong0uld to check it makes sense (thanks dyslexia) and get it on the website, then I will share it. Can't wait!

  7. At #DjangoConEU2026, we had a community conversation about #Django and AI usage, hosted by @thibaudcolas and Laura Gates: We had a tiny sub-group of esteemed people (@jong0uld! @williamblackie!), we talked about the "Who Gets Left Behind by AI". The framing isn't necessarily perfect (tempted to also argue "Who is free from AI"), but it's DEFINITELY a *necessary* perspective.. and one of the most critical ones.

With AI and current trends in mind, we noticed the following (thread)...

  12. Thanks to Django Social for organizing a great night out in Dublin. I enjoyed a walk around Dublin city center, inside the Trinity College, some fish and chips and a nice Guinness with friends, old (@jong0uld, @carlton, @felixxm and @EvilDMP) and new. 🇮🇪🍻

  14. Back home today from 🇺🇸

First job is to give my 9 year old the stickers I collected throughout the conference.

I love collecting them for her and she loves putting them into her notebooks. It’s a tradition now and I love this little bit of time we spend together with our stickers!

What’s your favourite post conference tradition?

  15. I’m sure I saw a pickleball open space for today somewhere…

  16. Last day at today and it’s the job fair. 🎡

If you are at the conference and want to have a 1-2-1 chat with me about careers, hiring, job search or anything else I have got a clear day and looking forward to meeting lots of new people!

Here’s a link to my diary to book a specific time and place to meet: calendly.com/foxleytalent/pycon

  17. Last night I gave my Lightning talk at and today I’ll be following up with an open space.

Tech Hiring has a fraud problem!

I’ll give the talk again for anyone who missed it and then open the floor for discussion. We’ll cover the issue from both hiring and job seeking perspectives.

This is scheduled for 11am in room S4

    See you there!

  18. Come and join some of us for an end of day drink at the Auld Dubliner bar from 7pm tonight (Friday)

  19. It's a last minute addition for the day but I'm running a OpenSpace at 5pm.

This will be a live CV/Resume Workshop and discussion.

  20. Have made it to day one proper. Really enjoyed the intro talks this morning from Elaine and Deb.

    Lots happening today!

  21. At LAX now. Is anyone here and want to share a ride to the venue?

  30. 🎉 Happy 20th Birthday Django 🎉

I first heard about Django 18 years ago when I made a phone call to a prospective client and now I have a business built around finding companies the best Django talent.

Along the way I have seen first hand just how much this amazing framework shapes lives and careers.

I've shared some of my thoughts and experiences with Django in a blog post: foxleytalent.com/blog/django-t
