In the 90s conspiracy show Dark Skies, I remember one particular scene. At some point the aliens do mind control on a character. In a kind of vision, she sees the aliens. They have a glowing ball. She is frightened of the glowing ball. She doesn't want it. She refuses it. She resists. But then she takes the ball anyway. It causes her agony. She can't get rid of it. She must hold it.
