  2. A few years ago I was asked to facilitate a multi-team retrospective across a department. It had been previously noted that there seemed to be a psychological safety problem across this department and I was asked to address that specifically, so I did. I introduced the topic, provided some context around psychological safety, and we started to explore what people were noticing and how they felt.

Within about twenty minutes, I and my co-facilitators were receiving panicked messages from managers who had not been invited to the retrospective. They were telling me to stop the conversation and leave it alone. It turned out that people inside the retrospective had felt so uncomfortable just talking about this subject that they had reached out to their own management to get it shut down.

An interesting point is that by the end of the retrospective, everyone inside the room was calm and feeling good about the outcome of the meeting.

Outside the room however, the panic continued for weeks. Various levels of management pulled me into meetings to discuss what had happened. What could have been a clean two-hour retrospective became a weeks-long organizational disruption, triggered not by anything that happened in the room, only by the alarm signals that had spread outward from it.

    So what was actually happening?

  4. The work on our board can loosely be grouped into three categories. It’s either active, blocked, or stalled. We tend to spend a lot of time talking about the active and blocked work and have a tendency to forget about the rest, which results in stalled work aging unnecessarily. That in turn will make the overall system less effective and less predictable.

Let’s look at some reasons why work becomes stalled.

Thank you photographer at large for the pictures (all worth a thousand words). One in particular… the #ecumenical service … in our Parliament… representing around 35% of the population declaring themselves non-religious — let’s not talk about all the other religious minorities. Why? Why bring religion into our Houses?

I propose a well funded public education campaign to teach the electorate that a #secular govt is the best protector of #democracy. The campaign is to make an unopposable case for changing the constitution to ban all ‘magical’ services — with apologies to all unlightened believers in a superior and immaterial being(s) — in all Houses of Representation throught the realm.

There… I’ve hoisted my flag. I hasten to say that I will probalby die on this hill.

Congress Quietly Kills Military “#RightToRepair,” Allowing #Corporations to Cash In on *Fixing* Broken Products

Both chambers included Pentagon budget provisions for a right to repair, but they died after defense industry meetings on Capitol Hill.

by Matt Sledge, December 9 2025

"The idea of a 'right to repair' — a requirement that companies facilitate consumers’ #repairs, #maintenance, and modification of products — is extremely popular, even winning broad, bipartisan support in Congress. That could not, however, save it from the #MilitaryIndustrial complex.

"#Lobbyists succeeded in killing part of the National Defense Authorization Act [#NDAA] that would have given service members the right to fix their equipment in the field without having to worry about military suppliers’ intellectual property.

"The decision to kill the popular proposal was made public Sunday after a closed-door conference of top congressional officials, including defense committee chairs, along with Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D.

"Those meetings were secret, but consumer advocates say they have a pretty good idea of what happened.

" 'It’s pretty clear that defense contractors opposed the right-to-repair provisions, and they pressed hard to have them stripped out of the final bill,' said Isaac Bowers, the federal legislative director at #USPIRG. 'All we can say is that #DefenseContractors have a lot of influence on Capitol Hill.'

"The idea had drawn bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, which each passed their own versions of the proposal.

"Under one version, co-sponsored by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Mt., defense companies would have been required to supply the information needed for repairs — such as technical data, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and lists of replacement parts — as a condition of Pentagon contracts.

"The idea was that no service member would ever be left waiting on a contractor to fly in from Norway to repair a simple part — which once happened — or, in another real-life scenario, told by the manufacturer to buy a new CT scanner in a combat zone because one malfunctioned.

"Instead of worrying about voiding a warranty, military personnel in the field could use a 3D printer or elbow grease to fix a part.

" 'The military is a can-do operation,' Bowers said. 'Service members can and should be able to repair their own equipment, and this will save costs if they can do it upfront and on time and on their schedule.' "

E ela fará o que for preciso.”

A 5ª temporada será lançada em três partes:

    • Volume 1 – 26 de novembro (4 episódios)
    • Volume 2 – 25 de dezembro (3 episódios)
    • Volume final – 31 de dezembro (episódio final)

O elenco principal retorna completo, incluindo Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Tenente Akers) e Linda Hamilton como a Dra.

  14. To Understand JD Vance, You Need to Meet the “Theo-Bros”

These extremely online young Christian men want to end the 19th Amendment, restore public flogging, and make America white again.

On July 15, when former President Donald Trump first appeared at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, he brought along two new accessories.

One was a large bandage covering his ear, which had been nicked by a would-be assassin’s bullet.

The other was Ohio’s first-term senator and Hillbilly Elegyauthor JD Vance, who was about to debut as the GOP vice presidential hopeful.

Two days later, after paying tribute to his wife, Usha—the child of immigrants from India—and their three biracial kids, Vance portrayed a vision of America that resonated deeply with Trump voters.

“America is not just an idea,” he said solemnly. “It is a group of people with a shared history and a common future. It is, in short, a nation.”

To many viewers at home, this seemed like the stuff of a boilerplate, patriotic stump speech.

But the words “#shared #history” lit up a far-right evangelical corner of social media.

“America is a particular place with a particular people,” Joel Webbon, a Texas pastor and podcaster, wrote on X.

“This is one of the most important political questions facing America right now,” posted former Trump administration official William Wolfe.

“Answer it wrong, we will go the way of Europe, where the native-born populations are being utterly displaced by third world migrants and Muslims.
Answer it right, and we can renew America once more.”

♦️Vance was embracing one of their most cherished beliefs:
🔥America should belong to Christians, and, more specifically, white ones.

“The American nation is an actual historical people,” says Stephen Wolfe (no relation to William), the author of the 2022 book "The Case for Christian Nationalism",
-- “not just a hodgepodge of various ethnicities, but actually a place of settlement and rootedness.”

For this group of evangelical leaders, Vance, a 40-year-old former Marine who waxes rapturous about masculinity and women’s revered role as mothers, was the perfect tribune to spread their gospel of #patriarchal #Christian #nationalism.

For years, graying, khaki-clad evangelists have faithfully made the rounds at conservative events.

However, as Wolfe, a 41-year-old former Princeton postdoc, writes in his book,
these “men in wrinkled, short-sleeve golf shirts, sitting plump in their seats” are yesterday’s Christians.

Among younger activists, they inspire the rolling of eyes
—they are the embodiment of an ❌ineffective boomer approach to taking over the United States for Jesus.

🆘 In their place, a group of #young #pastors hope to spearhead a Christian nationalist glow-up as they eagerly await a “#Christian #prince” to rule America.

These often bearded thirty- and fortysomethings have suits that actually fit.

They are extremely online, constantly posting on myriad platforms, broadcasting their YouTube shows from mancaves,
and convening an endless stream of conferences for likeminded followers.

Let’s call them, as one scholar I spoke with did, the
    👉Theo-Bros.👈

For all their youthful modishness, this group is actually more conservative than their older counterparts.

Many TheoBros, for example, don’t think #women belong in the pulpit or the voting booth
—and even want to ⚠️repeal the 19th Amendment.

For some, prison reform would involve replacing incarceration with public #flogging.

Unlike more mainstream Christian nationalists, like House Speaker Mike Johnson, who are obsessed with the US Constitution,
many TheoBros believe that the Constitution is dead and that 💥we should be governed by the Ten Commandments.

In "American Reformer", their unofficial magazine, hagiographies of Spanish dictator Francisco #Franco appear alongside full-throated defenses of countries that
    🧨execute gay people.

On podcasts, the TheoBros unpack “the perils of #multiculturalism,” expose “Burning Man’s wicked agenda,” and peel back the nefarious feminist plot of #Taylor #Swift.

In Wolfe’s "The Case for Christian Nationalism", one of their seminal texts, he writes that in an ideal Christian nation, ❗️heretics could be executed.❗️

The rise of the TheoBros worries more mainstream religious conservatives.

Janet Mefferd, a former Christian radio host and journalist who tracks their ascendancy, says her community is alarmed to see an extremist movement gaining traction.

“I’m not sure what the endgame is, other than they want to advance Christian nationalism,” she says.
“But a lot of us find that terrifying.”
