My barber (I like the kid) just asked me about the dangers of AI based on the high-level departures recently due to safety at OpenAI/Anthropic.
Had to tell him about enterprise and industrial security and how AI could cause harm in finance, healthcare, infrastructure (power,water,etc), and self-driving cars. I also tossed in warfare, surveillance, and privacy to round out the discussion.
Pretty sure he threw his phone as I walked out.
He is a barber, he should not have to worry about how AI is going to kill humanity. There are whole mastodon instances for that.
