  7. I could foresee some smaller tweaks here and there ( with framework as default shell, synced theme changes in , , and bunch of others, as the file manager to follow the TUI focus etc., as the main web browser), but these can be customized fairly easily already in the main distro. Switching the distro itself and the main filesystem powering it would require some heavy lifting 🤔

  12. OK, NIC works perfectly fine in another machine, so it’s either faulty socket (very possible, it’s a very old mobo), or short circuit with the case (quite possible, the fit is very tight), or maybe not powerful enough power supply (I’ve got HBA with four HDDs connected in another PCIe socket) 🤔

  13. Well shit, I plugged in new 4-port 2.5GbE NIC () and my NAS fails to get to the POST 😩 Works perfectly fine with another 4-port 1GbE NIC () FWIW 🙄 I wonder if it’s simply matter of the mobo being too old, it dates back to 2011/2012 after all 🤷🏻‍♂️

  14. I can see tons of , or git servers out there in the wild. Which is cool. But I don’t see nearly as much about by the peeps: github.com/charmbracelet/soft- If you are after something small, and TUI is all you need, don’t miss out on this one! You can check the “demo mode” via `ssh git.charm.sh`. You’re welcome ☺️

  17. @jhx as usual when reading about such setup I can't recommend enough: yadm.io In similar vein I also setup (gitolite.com), which I like, but which is probably an overkill in this case. Thanks for sharing, I always love reading about somebody else's setups! 🙌🏻

  22. @debianautnihil I think this might be a matter of preference — what you described is pretty much how GNU stew worked. The beauty of is that it works directly in your $HOME directory — you add files to be tracked via yadm add, you can list added/tracked files via yadm list. There’s a special handling for targeting specific hosts via alternate files — these are using symlinks but are still stored in their ordinary places, more info here: yadm.io/docs/alternates I hope that helps 😊

  23. CW: Looking to move away from GitHub, advice welcome

@lispi314 as was already suggested — plain will do just fine. Should you need to share the repository with others I can’t recommend enough: gitolite.com
