I could foresee some smaller tweaks here and there (#zsh with #zim framework as default shell, synced theme changes in #bat, #fzf, #eza and bunch of others, #nnn as the file manager to follow the TUI focus etc., #zen as the main web browser), but these can be customized fairly easily already in the main #omarchy distro. Switching the distro itself and the main filesystem powering it would require some heavy lifting 🤔

OK, NIC works perfectly fine in another machine, so it’s either faulty socket (very possible, it’s a very old mobo), or short circuit with the case (quite possible, the fit is very tight), or maybe not powerful enough power supply (I’ve got HBA with four HDDs connected in another PCIe socket) 🤔 #realtek #intel

Prima dell'inizio ufficiale della Marcia delle Bandiere, una folla di adolescenti israeliani ha molestato e schernito i palestinesi di Gerusalemme, nonché giornalisti e attivisti, sputando, gridando slogan razzisti e omofobi e lanciando sedie e caffè ai passanti mentre attraversavano la Città Vecchia. Nel quartiere musulmano sono scoppiati violenti scontri, con persone che lanciavano pietre, sedie e bottiglie di vetro.
Un agente di polizia nella Città Vecchia di Gerusalemme ha spintonato la giornalista di #Haaretz Linda Dayan, che esibiva un tesserino stampa, dopo averle negato la richiesta di accompagnarla fuori dalla zona. ⬇️3

In occasione dell'uscita del libro, Bartov ha rilasciato un'intervista a #Haaretz nella quale si è affrettato a dichiarare di non essere antisionista, tanto dolorosa e difficile è per lui tale ammissione.
«Sono cresciuto in una famiglia sionista. Per me era ovvio che Israele fosse la mia casa», ha detto, per spiegare perché non è «anti».
Ma ha lasciato quella casa decenni fa, e le sue dichiarazioni fanno riflettere sulle sue preoccupazioni, o forse sulla sua vergogna, nell’ammettere di essere antisionista, cosa che apparentemente manca ancora di legittimità.
Bartov sostiene che il sionismo è destinato a scomparire, che Israele non può esistere come Stato normale sotto questa ideologia e che, se il sionismo è stato in grado di portare al genocidio a Gaza, non può più reggere come ideologia. ⬇️4

Cet entretien a été traduit et mis en ligne en français sur un blog Médiapart (Jean-Pierre Marchand). Alors, ce n’est pas très bien traduit (même moi, je rectifie plutôt mieux les traductions que je fais à l’aide de DeepL 😊) et c’est un maxi fouillis, en mélangeant le texte, les encadrés et les extraits placés en exergue (d’où des répétitions pénibles). Ofri Ilani in #Haaretz uses a Stanisław Lem story to explain something analysts keep refusing to say plainly: the world is run by an idiot.
In Lem’s “Idiota” (in “A Perfect Vacuum”; OM), parents of a severely disabled infant convince themselves he is a superior being, freed from language, morality, and limits. They build a cult around interpreting his drool as metaphysical insight. Eventually they abandon reason entirely to imitate him.
Ilani observes correctly that this is exactly what Israeli public opinion does with #Trump. And not only Israel. The “best analysts” at Foreign Policy and Foreign Affairs do it too. They can’t admit the conclusion because it means accepting an arbitrary, absurd world. So they manufacture strategy where there is none.
[…] But at a certain point the stupidity just screams to the heavens. You have no choice but to acknowledge it – unless you belong to a particularly fanatical cult of believers. And the war against #Iran is one of those moments. This is simply a stupid, absurd, and destructive war. There is no point looking for any hidden logic in it.
He concluded: Napoleon also smashed the old order violently, but claimed to replace it with Reason. Trump replaces it with stupidity and ignorance. Supporting Trump is therefore explicitly nihilistic – not a political position, simply the desire to watch the world burn.

Un video che abbiamo pubblicato su #Haaretz mostrava come, per circa 45 minuti, i soldati siano rimasti indifferenti accanto al bambino ferito ma ancora vivo, senza prestargli alcun soccorso.
Da quando ci siamo incontrate alla fine di gennaio, Safaa Jadallah mi ha chiamato o scritto ogni pochi giorni, esprimendo la sua sorpresa per il fatto che, nonostante l’attenzione dei media, #Israele non abbia restituito il corpo di suo figlio alla famiglia.
Su sua richiesta, ho contattato diverse persone in Cisgiordania e in Israele per verificare se fossero disposte a parlare con lei riguardo alla restituzione della salma di suo figlio.
È rimasta delusa dal fatto che coloro che avevano promesso di chiamarla non l’abbiano fatto. ⬇️3 -
