gibts bei #grml die Möglichkeit, den Bildschirm-Timeout auszustellen? Ich mache damit rsync, das dauert, aber der Bildschirm geht nach 10 Minuten aus und nimmer an wenn ich nix tue... das würde ich gerne abschalten ;)

Ich hab unlängst einen gebrauchten Laptop über refurbed.at gekauft.
Jetzt hat das Ding ein Kontaktproblem beim Stecker und muss als Reklamation eingeschickt werden.
Soweit so gut.
Die verlangen aber jetzt das Windows-Passwort (und allfällig das Bios-Passwort) für die Reparatur. Und ich frag mich, ob bei denen der Lift noch bis ganz nach oben fährt.
Die Funktionalität eines Rechners kann man auch mit einem Linux-Livestick (bin sicher, sowas gibts auch für Windows) überprüfen, ohne dass man das Login für den ersten und einzigen Windows-Account benötigt.... ist ja bloß der Admin-Zugang...
Abgesehen davon bootet das Teil auch nach Linux per Default. Ein Dualboot macht das möglich... :)
Wie soll ich jetzt reagieren? Kein Passwort mitschicken, dafür einen Downloadlink für #Grml + Bezugsquelle für qualitätsvolle USB-Sticks?
Wenn die die Reklamation nicht ohne Windows-Passwort annehmen... was dann? -

After setup, it needs additional initialization.
The fields getting set will not change again. Ideally would be final (Java, or readonly in TypeScript). And I don't want an "if (bla!=null)" where ever access I them.
In my ideal solution this would be guarded by the type system where the nodes, once initialized, change type. I know roughly how it could be done, but its weird and cumbersome. 😕

Grmpf, not the best day. Excavator was in the way of something else, so I drove it out, decided to do some quick jobs to charge the battery up and then parked it outside the barn. Upon turning the key again, nothing at all, not even the solenoid clicking.
Keyswitch ok, battery ok, so I had to trace wires (no diagram, although it's not complicated) until finding the culprit: A failed crimp on a ring terminal where the instrument wiring connects to the starter/battery plus.
Easy fix, put everything back together, two hours down the drain. 😮💨
