Btw. What's up with the option to have schools manage kids' devices? Is it to make sure they grow up obedient office drones?
-
I think I've set everything up correctly, but can't really be sure that screen time is shared across devices (even though there's a single device they use, the limits can be adjusted on my other laptops and it's weird).
Also everywhere I log in, I can see that Apple Arcade is shared. Except when I log in as a kid 🤷♂️ maybe it takes time to sync or smth?

Bought a Macbook Neo for the kids (side note: it's unbelievable, but I'll still be able to sell their previous 8 year old Macbook pro for like 30-40% of the price of the new one they are getting 🤯).
Setting up Apple Family stuff and various parental controls.
The UX is horrible.
I guess people in Cupertino don't have families and kids, just like people in Mountain View 🤷

Does the car go onto the primary wifi or the iot one 🤔
It feels like it's Big and Useful and Expensive, therefore it belongs with Serious Devices... But automakers are probably just as bad and likely worse than the heatpumps, aren't they?

Like, if you already have a theory, then don't ask Claude to tell you that you're right. Ask Claude to e.g. give suggestions for (a) proving the theory (b) disproving the theory (both are equally important! same as it always has been!)
-
It should also be forbidden to say "Claude tells me X", unless you also "when I asked it Y".

The part of my job I hate the most: spending hours pointing out that the LLM is wrong.
It's Brandolini's law, multiplied by confirmation bias, multiplied by slop.
LLMs do not get the presumption of innocence! They're wrong until proven otherwise (by a human or a deterministic test).
-
Some people are involuntarily training themselves to prompt LLMs in a way which maximizes the chances of a desirable answer.
It's like confirmation bias bias.

Just to keep this here, in prep for #linkrot:
> There are some patriotic citizens who sincerely hope that America will win the war - but they also hope that Russia will lose it; and there are some who hope that America will win the war, but that England will lose it; and there are some who hope that America will win the war, but that Roosevelt will lose it.

> I know you will not mind my being brutally frank when I tell you that I think I can personally handle Stalin better than either your Foreign Office or my State Department. Stalin hates the guts of all your top people. He thinks he likes me better, and I hope he will continue to.

Pasiėmiau žmonos darbo su vaikais QR kodą patyrinėt.
Viduj kažkoks ilgas stringas. Tikrinimo svetainėje, QR kodą reikia iš telefono rodyti į kamerą. Nežinau ką daro mokyklų buhalterės su senais kompais be kameros, gavusios PDF emeilu. Spausdina ir skenuoja telefonu? #GoPaperless. Dar įdomu ką daro su rezultatu. Vėl spausdina ir sega į bylutę?
Enivejs, stringas GET requestu keliauja į VRM Informatikos ir ryšių departamento API, kur jau grįžta JSONas.
Be abejo, procese Cloudflare sau MITM'ina.
