Star Trek 2009 is in some ways a really great movie, at least a very fun one, but the camera work in that thing is just exhausting, constant movement, constant flare, whip pans, zooms, shakycam, the works. It's so kinetic that's it's distracting, esp on 2nd watch.

I've started using #Wallabag as my replacement for Pocket, with a self-hosted backend. So far so good! It's been able to handle all the articles I've thrown at it thus far, and the setup was pretty easy, though I did have to go rooting around a bit for a sample docker-compose.yml

Just got Actual set up to manage budgeting. Quick a nice webapp, very easy to use. A couple quirks with importation that I've found, but no dealbreakers thus far. #SelfHosted #Actual #Budgeting

I made the mistake of attempting to read Rama II.
I remember liking the original Rama novel. I gave it some grace because it's a Big Dumb Space Object novel despite being written by Clarke who I think we can all agree is objectively not very good at the craft.
But Rama II, boy, what an interminable slog full of just oddly-conceived stereotype characters. Takes a quarter of the book to just get off earth. Too much (bad) dialogue. Yuck.

I don't really have an #InnerMonologue so when I get songs stuck in my head I don't "hear" them in there.
Instead I find myself wanting to spontaneously sing that song, compulsively, out of nowhere.
Sometimes I get songs attached to places, too. Back when I was in the office, there was this one particular room where I always wanted to sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
Brains are weird.

CW: Uhhh, bug sex I guess?
Not sure what you were expecting. Not sure what *I* was expecting. Spotted a neat little fly or something crawling around on a #dandelion and then another one showed up and they started to get intimate. Not sure if they're flies, wasps, or #bees.
Whatever they are, they're apparently horny. If I had only brought some candles or something... though I guess they'd have just flown into those and burned.
