More than 35 youths have proposed measures to make Singapore’s public transport system more inclusive, comfortable and convenient following three months of engagement with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and National Youth Council (NYC).
The Youth Panel for #Transport presented its recommendations to Minister of State for Transport, and Culture, Community and Youth Baey Yam Keng. Suggestions include improving first- and last-mile travel for seniors, making MRT stations and train-bus transfers easier to navigate, improving thermal comfort at bus stops and promoting a more gracious commuting culture.
Other ideas include a platform combining cycling information, personalised route planning and real-time parking data, alongside personalised incentives to encourage travel outside peak periods. LTA will consider the proposals, together with wider public feedback, as part of the Land Transport Master Plan Refresh, due for release in 2027.
